Tonelagee and a Heart Shaped Lake: Valentine’s Special.

About The Walk: This walk takes us right into the heart of the Wicklow gap and starts at the spectacular Glenmacnass Waterfall. Walking North East we cross the Glenmacnass river. We will immediately start to climb once we have crossed the river although the incline isn’t too steep. This peak offers fantastic views of the Valley below us and Lugnaquilla (the highest mountain in Wicklow) to our left. From here we walk east along the ridge of Tonlegee and over to the Seven Churches crossing the old pilgrimage trail of St Kevin. Below us from the peak sits the beautiful heart-shaped lake Ouler.

How to get there:

If you are coming from Dublin on the M50 and the N11 take the turn of at Kilmacanogue for Round wood and Glendalough. Drive through Roundwood and head for Annamoe from here you’ll arrive in Laragh. Lyhnam’s is just on your left.
