Walking on Seefin and Seefingen – A Pagan Place
Walking time: Approx 3-4hrs, Distance: 11Km. Ascent: 350m
Graded: Moderate
Terrain: Open mountain trails.
About This Walk: This is a guided walk in the Dublin and Wicklow hills, siting on the border of both counties with ancient burial cairns. There are numerous ways to approach this walk but we will be starting it close to the Kilbride Firing range and take a steady track up to the summit of Seefin. This will give a nice loop walk taking in both peaks. We will then continue in a NE direction on a spur towards the summit of Seefingan, which sits on the Dublin Wicklow border. On Seefin there is a very impressive megalithic tomb dating back to the first Neolithic farmers and settlers in this region. From the summits and walks we get great views across West Wicklow, Dublin and the Blessington lakes.
How to get there:
Take the M50 come of at Junction 12 – Firhouse, Ballycullen. Take the Killinninny Road towards Tallaght. After approx 3 roundabouts the Old Mill Pub is on your far left.
