St Kevin’s Way is a way marked trail from Hollywood or Valleymount to Glendalough in County Wicklow. It is believed to be the way that St Kevin took to walk to Hollywood from Glendalough. We will just be doing a section of this from The Wicklow Gap to Glendalough.
Details: Meeting at Lynham’s in Laragh we will car pool and drive some cars out to the start of the walk from Annalecky bridge in the Wicklow Gap. Here the trail is mainly of road until we get to the foot of Turlough Hill Power station. From here there are wonderful down the miners village and the Glendasan valley. It is all downhill from here following the Glendasan river towards Glendalough and Laragh where we finish.
We will be stopping for a bite to eat along the way so bring a small packed lunch.
Glendalough is an area of outstanding beauty in the Wicklow Mountains National Park.
How to get there by car:
The best way to get to Glendalough from Dublin or Bray would be to get onto the N11 heading south. Get off it at Kilmacanogue and head for the Roundwood / Glendalough / Laragh direction. Go through Roundwood, then Annamoe and to Laragh. Lynham’s Hotel is just on your left at the corner.
