Mountain Skills Part I and II
This 2 day course is organized by BOS. (Bord Oiliúint Sléibhe, which is the Irish Mountain Training Board) and recognized throughout Ireland.
This course is designed to give you the skills and confidence to navigate correctly and keep safe in walking in the great outdoors.
This course is for your own personal confidence on the hills. Giving you the bases of many of the skills required to keep you safe while out walking. Such as Map reading and compass work, what to wear on a walk and other equipment advice. Advice on emergency situations and how to handle them.
The Course is run by a qualified and recognized BOS Instructor Terry Lambert who is an excellent instructor with numerous years experience on the hills himself.
This course will take place in the Wicklow Mountains over 2 days. Both in a classrom and outdoors.Giving you the chance to put all the theory you will have gained into practice. The course will take place in the Glendalough area of Wicklow.

For Guided Walks we recommend you Bring:
- Walking Boots
- OSI Sheet 56 – Wicklow
- Compass – Silva Type 4
- Walking trousers, not jeans
- Walking Rucksack.
- Rain gear
- Enough Food for a day on the hills
- Extra Top
- Walking Poles if you use them
