About the Day Tour of Wicklow:

You will travel south through Dublin and into county Wicklow. There are options within this tour to enjoy a Guided walk or Horse Riding in the Wicklow Hills.
If you’re not feeling to energetic you have the opportunity to relax and visit The Powerscourt Gardens (discounted rate of €8 not covered in cost). The Gardens were Voted No. 3 in the World’s Top 10 Gardens by the National Geographic.
The guides are very friendly and full of local history and stories of both Dublin and Wicklow and will keep you informed on the way
Activity or the Powerscourt Gardens
Our first stop along the way is Enniskerry (film location of “P.S. I Love You” and “Leap Year”), a small picturesque Victorian estate village in Wicklow. Then you are brought to your chosen activity or the Powerscourt Gardens. The activities are approx 1.5 – 2hrs in length. You are brought to the stables if you are horse riding or else your guide will bring you on a guided walk.
Lunch Stop in Ennskerry
After your activity we all meet back up and take a break for lunch in Enniskerry.
We like to go to a local cafe here called Poppies, who offer a wide selection of lunches from their Poppies pie to soup, sandwiches, salads and excellent deserts. They also cater for vegetarians.
The Tour Continues
After lunch the tour continues on through the valleys and glens of the Wicklow Mountains visiting many wonderful highlights along the way. Including Wicklow Mountain National Park, The Sally Gap, Lough Tay, the Guinness Lake (film location of “Excalibur” and “Brave Heart”), “P.S. I Love You” bridge, Glendalough and it’s 6th century monastic site.
There are many stops along the way to take some pictures.
Glendalough and St Kevin’s monastic site
When you reach Glendalough, your guide will show you around the monastic site of St. Kevin. Then you will have some free time to explore Glendalough valley and the two lakes. There are many places in Glendalough to enjoy a bite to eat or enjoy a coffee also.
Afterwards we will return to Dublin for approx 17:30.
- The tours are small groups with 16 persons max per coach, making sure you are well looked after along the way.
