About the walk:
Starting from Kippure lodge for this walk we enter the forest track opposite the estate. Then we will take a zig-zag forested track most of the way up to the summit of Seefin. This will give a nice loop walk taking in both peaks. We will then continue in a NE direction on a spur towards the summit of Seefingan, which sits on the Dublin Wicklow border. On Seefin there is a very impressive megalithic tomb dating back to the first Neolithic farmers and settlers in this region. From the summits and walks we get great views across West Wicklow, Dublin and the Blessington lakes.
Kippure Lodge is an old estate on the edge of the National Park and now operates as a holiday village/adventure centre.
The walkers from Dairine's Nordic walkers will be joining us for this outing and we are all having tea/coffee/scones in Kippure after the walk
What to expect: Forest and open mountain side track, bog and trails
What to Bring:
Walking Boots, Raingear, leg gaiters, sun cream, Snack, drink, flask, back pack with extra socks and warm top.
How to get there:
Take the N81 past Tallaght towards Blessington. Then .keeping an eye out for sign saying Kilbride R759 and follow this road towards the Sally Gap for about 5Km. The Kippure estate will be on your right.
